Gas Conditioning Towers

  • Gas Conditioning Tower - Spillback Model
  • Dual-Media Injection Gas Conditioning Tower

Gas conditioning towers (GCT) are used in industrial applications to cool gases upstream, ahead of bag filters, electrostatic precipitators or our Dual-Action Filters. They are considered to be the most effective type of cooling systems in treating exhaust process gases.

Redecam offers two different GCT water injection systems:

  • A Spillback Injection System, based on spillback nozzles;
  • A Dual-Media Injection System, in which water is atomized by water pressure and compressed air.

What makes our GCT systems better than the rest?

  • Even mixing. We have mastered our Gas Distribution System (GDS) to avoid any uneven gas/water mixing. Our GDS can even be applied as a retrofit to improve GCTs in existing installations;
  • Smaller tower size. Our market-leading GDS and our top quality nozzles both reduce the required gas retention time in the tower, allowing the tower to be more compact;
  • Optimized control system. Redecam’s control system technology regulating the GCT is designed to optimize reaction times, allowing our customers to cope with new process conditions at the tower inlet rapidly to ensure continued efficiency.

Gas-to-Air Heat Exchangers

Heat Exchanger

Redecam’s Gas-to-Air Heat Exchangers decrease the temperature of the gas resulting in a reduced flow in the system.

The benefit of a Redecam Gas-to-Air Heat Exchanger? Initial cost-savings, enhanced plant operation and reduced operating costs due to:

  • Reduced equipment costs. Our Heat Exchangers will reduce the required size of the bag filter, exhaust fans, ducts and stacks;
  • Reduced power consumption. Even when working at high capacity.
  • Increased pressure stability. Our Heat Exchangers increase the pressure stability at the clinker cooler outlet connection, resulting in stable conditions at the outlet, particularly important in the cement industry.

What makes our Gas-to-Air Heat Exchangers better than the rest?

  • Enhanced heat exchange. With their unique designs, our Gas-to-Air Heat Exchangers minimize losses of pressure, while limiting the heat exchanger’s footprint;
  • Perfect seals. Special fasteners at the top and bottom of the heat exchangers provide perfect seals while allowing the internal tubes to expand and contract in differing heat conditions, preventing assembly stress and deformation. Redecam’s special replaceable insert at the top of the tubes also limits impact abrasion;
  • Optimized control systems. Our control systems are based only on the inlet temperature, providing variable coefficients calculated using the mass of the gas and ambient temperature;
  • Excellent performance. Both models, one for dry gases, the other for humid gases, offer excellent performance and leave the tubes perfectly clean;
  • Easily transportable for less costly delivery. The designs of our Gas-to-Air Heat Exchangers allow us to ship them completely pre-assembled in bundle sizes suitable for common carriers.

Redecam’s Water Injection System

Water Injection System

Redecam’s Water Injection System (WIS) is ideal when gas temperature control through the reduction of the stoichiometric ratio is key to improving efficiency. Our WIS features special nozzles that convert the water into a mist, creating a fog.

What makes our WIS better than the rest?

  • High rates of evaporation. No competitor achieves our evaporation rates;
  • Allows a more compact layout. A shorter evaporation time means less duct space allotted to evaporation, meaning our WIS can reduce the footprint of the system;
  • Suitable for retrofits. It’s possible to install our WIS system in an existing facility without a major plant layout modification;
  • Reduced energy consumption. Our system operates with lower pressure losses than similar such systems on the market.

Mixing Chamber

Mixing Chamber

The Redecam Mixing Chamber (MC) is the smallest compartment in the air treatment system. It ensures that the various gases used are mixed at proper levels. The chamber may be located within the feed system either at the beginning of the feed lines or at the very tip of the device used to handle materials.

What makes our MC system better than the rest?

  • Each Mixing Chamber is unique. Redecam tailors the design for each customer based on duct layout and process flow;
  • Can double as dust pre-separator. For heavy duty applications, our Mixing Chamber can be modified to act as a dust pre-separator. The collected dust, in such a case, would be discharged on the global dust transport system.
